SUN & BEACH

You will never run out of fun water activities to do in Pangasinan, whether underwater or above it. Pangasinan’s islands, rivers and beaches are paradise for water lovers. Here’s a short list of water activities to try in Pangasinan: swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, recreational water activities (banana boat, fly fish, helmet diving, parasailing and inter-island ziplining), water sports (kayaking and dragon boat racing), sports fishing, stand-up paddle, skim boarding, and other beach sports activities (beach volleyball, flag football, soccer, kite land boarding).

Recommended Places: Hundred Islands National Park is considered as one of the favorite tourist destinations in the north. The province’s extensive coastline embracing fourteen coastal towns and cities provides endless choices for water activities. West coast towns – Agno, Alaminos City, Anda, Bani, Bolinao, Burgos, Dasol, and Infanta; Lingayen Gulf CoastBinmaley, Dagupan City, Labrador, Lingayen, San Fabian, and Sual; Islands in Alaminos City, Bolinao, Dasol, Infanta, and Sual.

  • FARM TOURISM SITES

Pangasinan is one of the country’s major agricultural provinces (we placed 3rd in rice production and other crops), thus, Pangasinan is endowed with more than 30 farm tourism sites that showcase unique learning, nature-friendly and health and wellness activities.

Recommended Places: Different kinds of farm sites are spread around the entire province. These include farm resorts, farm stays, organic farms, sunflower farms, ylang-ylang plantations, agri-tourism training centers, and health and wellness farms. Some DOT-accredited farms are Our Farm Republic Organic Farm and Teraoka Agritourism & Training Center in Mangatarem, Farmcradle International in Balungao, Greentop Organix Farm, Roheim Farm and Wellness Resort and Rosemarie Organic Garden & Healing Garden and Puregreen Ecofarm in Calasiao, AGTALON, Inc. in Manaoag.

  • ECOTOURISM SITES

Discover more of the province’s rich natural resources and biodiversity by visiting ecotourism havens such as rivers, falls, springs, caves, and other protected areas.

Recommended Places: Best rivers and springs are Balingasay River in Bolinao, Balungao Hot and Cold Spring, Balungao, and Butao Spring in San Manuel. Best falls are located in Bolinao, Bani, Labrador, Sison, and Natividad. Protected landscapes include Bangrin Mangrove Protected Area & Bird Watching Site in Bani, Manleluag Spring Protected Area in Mangatarem¸ and the Bolinao Mangrove Information Center. Best Caves for spelunking are located in Mabini, Infanta and Bani.

CULTURAL

  • FAITH TOURISM

Pangasinan abounds with notable Spanish-era Roman Catholic churches as well as interesting pilgrimage sites that will encourage you to pray, reflect and inspire your spiritual life.

Recommended Places: Pilgrims will find solace and seek papal blessings and plenary indulgencies at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag and the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Dagupan City. Devotees may mix nature and faith with a visit to these pilgrimage sites, Mt. Zion Pilgrim Mountain in Bugallon, Ayatni Apo Hesus Statue in Natividad, St. Vincent Ferrer Prayer Park in Bayambang, Pilgrimage Island in Hundred Islands National Park, Alaminos City¸Cavalry Hill and Redeemer’s Cross in Bani. Other Hispanic churches that are Visita Iglesia favorites can be found in the towns of Binmaley, Bolinao, Bugallon, Calasiao, Lingayen, Mangatarem, San Carlos City, and San Fabian.

  • HERITAGE SITES

Pangasinan is brimming with history and culture, so much so that its towns and cities are peppered with landmarks and museums that anyone visiting the province has to see.

Recommended Places: Located in the heart of Lingayen the Capitol Complex is home to several landmarks such as the Capitol Building, which is considered to be one of the eight architectural treasures of the country, as declared by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA) and the Filipino Heritage Foundation, Inc.Within the Capitol Complex are also the Sison Auditorium (also known as the Cultural Center of Pangasinan), the Veterans Memorial Park and the Urduja House. One can also go to former President Fidel V. Ramos’ ancestral home in Primicias Street. Another must-visit is the Fray Andres de Urdaneta Park in Urdaneta City which stands to honor the friar, soldier, navigator, and cosmographer for whom Urdaneta City was named.

  • PANGASINAN CUISINE

Said to be the home of the world’s tastiest milkfish or “bangus” and the Kitchen of the North, Pangasinan offers unforgettable food trips. Fresh from farms and ponds, direct from suppliers or the market, served in homes or in all sorts of restaurants in the cities of Alaminos, Dagupan, San Carlos, or Urdaneta and their neighboring towns, every traveler or tourist will definitely have a feast.

HEALTH, WELLNESS & RETIREMENT

  • ADVENTURE

Aside from being blessed with dozens of picturesque natural wonders, Pangasinan boasts foothills, terrains and caves that immediately invite adventure enthusiasts and daredevils to challenge themselves.

Recommended Places: The Balungao Hilltop Adventure in Balungao, in particular, has ready facilities for ATV riding, hiking, mountain biking, and flying through a 1.4 km-long zipline. The Hundred Islands National Park in Alaminos City is also a great site for helmet diving, rappelling, kayaking, diving, and inter-island ziplining. The terrains of eastern Pangasinan, primarily in Balungao, Natividad, Rosales, and San Quintin, as well as in Aguilar, Bani, Bugallon, Mangatarem, and Sual in the west are ideal sites for hiking, camping and mountain biking. Caves in Bani, Bolinao, Infanta, and Mabini are also havens for seasoned and amateur spelunkers.

  • SPORTS AND ATHLETICS

The province’s well-maintained landscape and roads and a handful of sports facilities provide paradise for both professional and amateur athletes.

Recommended Places: The Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen is equipped with a standard track and field oval, swimming pool, tennis courts, health and wellness center, and sports gym. All national and provincial highways from Umingan to Infanta are also ideal for cyclists and marathoners. The Lingayen Beach is also a grand site for beach games and triathlons.
