Re-elected provincial board members have renewed their vows to serve Pangasinenses, after the last regular session of the 9th Sangguniang Panlalawigan on June 24 held at the Session Hall of the Provincial Capitol.

The seven re-elected board members, namely: Nestor D. Reyes (2nd district), Angel M. Baniqued Jr. (3rd district), Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario (4th district), Liberato Z. Villegas (4th district), Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa (5th district), Noel Bince (6th district), and Salvador S. Perez Jr. (6th district) took their oath of office before Judge Maria Laarni Parayno.

Elected 1st district board member Margielou Orange Humilde-Verzosa, first time to be elected as SP member, also took her oath of office along with the re-elected officials.

The last session of the 9th SP was filled with mixed emotions when six of its members, including the vice governor, delivered their farewell remarks.

The provincial officials who served the province for three consecutive terms for 9 years (2010-2013, 2013-2016, and 2016-2019) which formally end on June 30, include: Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr., provincial board members Napoleon C. Fontelera, Jr. (1st district), Raul P. Sison (2nd district), Generoso D. Tulagan, Jr. (3rd district), and Clemente B. Arboleda, Jr. (5th district).

SP member Antonio F. Sison (1st district) also ends his two consecutive terms.

“We were brought by the God Almighty, the people of Pangasinan, in this hallowed hall of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. Thank you for this opportunity to serve Pangasinenses,” the emotional Vice Governor Calimlim said in his farewell speech while recounting his experience in presiding the 7th, 8th, and 9th SP, respectively.

In delivering his heartfelt parting speech, the Vice Governor expressed gratitude to former governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. who launched the Golden Era of the province, which is continued by his son, Governor Amado I. Espino, III.

Right after their farewell speeches, the outgoing vice governor and board members received provincial resolutions commending their stint of service in the SP, and compilations of legislative enactments they authored, and co-authored.

The provincial resolutions presented to the outgoing vice governor and board members express sincerest commendation and esteemed recognition to their relentless efforts in serving the SP.

Witnessing the last session of the 9th SP were: Provincial Administrator Nimrod Camba along with some department heads, and former 6th district board member Alfonso Bince.

Members of the 10th SP (2019-2022) assume office on July 1.
