The province of Pangasinan has once again raised the bar of excellence made evident with the new set of accolades conferred to the provincial government.

Governor Amado I. Espino, III presented two awards of the province, namely: Plaque of Recognition from PAG-IBIG Fund as Top Employer in the Government Sector – North Luzon and certificate of recognition from the Boy Scout of the Philippines for the exceptional support and relentless services rendered to the scouting movement in Pangasinan.

The awards presentation was held shortly after the regular flag-raising ceremony at the Capitol Plaza on June 24.

Owing to the great efforts of all Capitol employees, Governor Espino said that these awards reflect the hardwork of all government officials and employees from highest down to the lowest rank.

The first citation was awarded by the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) to the province as the top employer in North Luzon for its significant contribution to PAG IBIG Fund’s accomplishments for 2018, thereby fulfilling its mandate to serve Filipino workers by providing them with a stable and sustainable fund and savings facility.

The abovementioned award was earlier received by Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. and Provincial Treasurer Malou Utanes from Pag-IBIG Fund chief executive officer Acmad Rizaldy Moti during an awarding ceremony held on May 7 at Clark Marriott Hotel in Pampanga.

It can be learned that this award recognized top employers that supported the Pag-IBIG programs on membership, loans and remittances of members’ savings and loan amortizations.

The provincial government of Pangasinan under the stewardship of Governor Espino was also cited by the BSP “for its exceptional support and relentless services rendered to the BSP in the successful and effective implementation of the Scouting Program in the province of Pangasinan.”

The second citation was awarded to the province during the 63rd Annual National Council Meeting held at the Capitol Convention Center in Camarines Sur.

Governor Espino also commended the praiseworthy years of service of outgoing Vice Governor Calimlim who is serving his last term as the second highest official of the province.

Vice Governor Calimlim has served as the vice governor of the provincial government and the presiding officer of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for nine years since 2010.

The provincial chief executive expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Vice Governor Calimlim who has been the constant comrade of the previous and present administration in establishing and sustaining superior public service for Pangasinenses.

“Hindi mararating ng provincial government of Pangasinan o ng probinsya ng Pangasinan ang kinaroroonan natin ngayon kung walang magaling at matibay na ka-tandem ang isang gobernador dito sa probinsya,” Governor Espino stated.

Vice Governor Calimlim, on the other hand, hailed the Espino administration who helped Pangasinan realized its vision and mission.

The Espino administration started in July 2007 under the watch of former Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr., who ushered in the dawning of the Golden Era of Pangasinan.

“Kinagagalak ko pong sabihin and I am very proud na sabihin na ako po ay nakasama ninyo sa paglipad para sa hangarin natin sa Pangasinan, side by side with you, at ang lahat ng ito ay narating na po natin,” Vice Governor Calimlim noted.

The vice governor also thanked all his colleagues who shared with him the great responsibility in the legislative body of the province.

As such, he urged all employees to further support the leadership of Governor Espino: “Hindi magagawa ni Gov. Pogi ang kanyang trabaho kung wala tayo.”

Vice Governor Calimlim also assured that he will always be around to help serve and better the lives of Pangasinenses even after his term.

“Lagi po tayong nakatayo katabi ng ating mahal na gobernador na maghahatid at maghahanap ng biyaya para sa lalawigan ng Pangasinan to give opportunities and uplift the lives of every Pangasinense,” he said.
