LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – “May the children and their grandchildren be in a place where there is peace.”
This was how Rev. Fr. Jerry Orbos urged all Pangasinenses as he officiated the thanksgiving mass in celebration of the 74th Lingayen Gulf Landings and 12th Veterans’ Day held at the Veterans’ Memorial Park on January 9.
“Peace begins in our home,” Fr. Orbos stressed as he urged all parents and elders to let peace start inside their household and so children may enjoy a peaceful and joyful life.
Hailing the veterans’ valor, Fr. Orbos said that blessings are what the Supreme Lord bestowed upon His people, especially, the gift of life as he asked for prayers for the late heroes of the province.
“In remembrance of the men and women who helped preserved peace, especially, here in Lingayen, may eternal rest be granted unto them,” Fr. Orbos said.
Recounting his battle with cancer, Fr. Orbos assured everyone that all things happen for a reason and being alive as a new day unfolds means being given a chance to fulfill a mission of the Almighty.
“Remember to count your blessing; not what is missing,” he said as he encouraged all Pangasinenses to live a joyful life.
He used three Hs on how to achieve a “joyful life” – be happy, be healthy and be holy.
In silence, Fr. Orbos invited all Pangasinenses to pray for themselves and their loved ones to ask God for his divine protection against all worries, trials and setbacks of life.
“Believe that nothing is impossible with God,” Fr. Orbos said as he also also asked for prayers for those who are in need of spiritual healing and healing of relationships.
Fr. Orbos also offered prayers for a harmonious and successful local and national elections.
“For our province, we pray for peaceful and honest elections and that elections may bear fruit and give us good leaders in Pangasinan and in the whole country and so peace may reign,” he stated.
