LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The provincial board led by Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr. unanimously approved resolution authorizing Development Bank of the Philippines to submit consolidated report on accounting of the province to the Bureau of Treasury.
Authored by Board Member Angel M. Baniqued, Jr. the approved Provincial Resolution No. 2017-2018 is in response to the letter sent by the Development Bank of the Philippines last November 5, requesting the Province of Pangasinan to submit the latest report on the time deposits, investments and other deposit balances to the Bureau of Treasury through the Department of Finance.
It was noted that as a local government unit (LGU) which has time deposits, investments and deposit balances held in the DBP, the province of Pangasinan shall adhere to the said requirement and thus, allow DBP to submit reports to the Department of Finance/ Bureau of Treasury.
As such, Governor Amado I. Espino, III will sign waiver allowing DBP, which serves as the authorized government depository bank of the provincial government of Pangasinan, to submit consolidated reports to the said office in compliance to the said requirement of the national government.
The vice governor also stated that this undertaking of the national government in coordination with LGUs and banking institutions usually occurs by the end of the year.
