LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Governor Amado I. Espino, III led the awarding of Php1.8 million financial grant to 12 cooperatives and associations and one micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) Restaurant on November.
Elated with the high repayment rate of 95%, Governor Espino expressed his appreciation to the beneficiaries and pledged to further expand this financial assistance program of the provincial government.
As such, the governor said that from the maximum loan amount of Php250,000 every cycle, the provincial government targets to make it as high as Php2-M with Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) as partner.
It was noted that under Governor Espino’s stint, renewal cycle has also increased to eight cycles from the usual three cycles.
The provincial chief executive was assisted by Provincial Population Officer (PPO) Ellsworth G. Gonzales in handing over the loan assistance to the sixth batch livelihood of beneficiaries for curriculum year 2018.
The sixth batch of LAP this year, aiding a total of 574 beneficiaries, is on their 2nd, 3rd 4th, and 6th cycle
Sixth batch of LAP beneficiary groups this year, includes: Maravilla St., KALIPI Association (Mangatarem), San Pablo United Farmers Agricultural Cooperative (Binalonan), Magiting Credit Cooperative (Umingan), Muelang KALIPI Association (Mangatarem), Talogtog KALIPI Association (Mangatarem), Federated Rural Improvement Club of Sta. Barbara (Sta. Barbara), Aragaag Farmers SWISA, Inc. (Asingan), Balungao Agricultural Farmers Association (Balungao), Dasol Market Vendors Association (Dasol), Anda KLAP SEA-K Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Anda), Sta. Maria Mango Growers and Handlers Association (Sta. Maria) and Salud Soriano Meat Dealer (Alaminos City).
The livelihood assistance program of the provincial government started in 2008 under the administration of the former governor and now representative of the fifth district, Congressman Amado T. Espino, Jr.
